Fairfax, VA – Today, Virginia State Senator Barbara Favola (SD-40) endorsed Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw (D-Braddock) for Congress in Virginia’s 11th District, calling him a proven fighter with the experience and values to deliver results for Northern Virginia and take on Trump’s dangerous agenda from Day One.
Favola, a former local elected official who served for 14 years on the Arlington County Board—including multiple terms as Chair—represents Arlington County in the Virginia Senate and has long championed women’s health, mental health services, and support for working families. She praised Walkinshaw’s public service record and collaborative leadership on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.
“As a former local official and Virginia State Senator, I know how important it is to have experienced leaders serving Northern Virginia in Congress,” said Favola. “I’ve seen James Walkinshaw fight for our values on the Fairfax County Board and build the coalitions necessary to make progress in areas important to our quality of life. I know James will take on Trump and deliver for our community.”
Walkinshaw thanked Senator Favola for her support, calling her a trailblazer in Virginia politics and a model of principled, effective leadership.
“Senator Favola has spent her career delivering results for women, families, and some of the most vulnerable members of our community,” said Walkinshaw. “She’s shown what it means to lead with both compassion and courage—and I’m honored to have her support as we work to take on Trump’s dangerous agenda and keep delivering for Northern Virginia.”
With 33 federal, state, and local endorsements—and thousands of energized supporters across the district—James Walkinshaw’s campaign continues to build strong momentum. From Fairfax City Hall to Richmond and Capitol Hill, trusted public servants, families, and grassroots volunteers are uniting to send the best-prepared candidate to Congress and deliver real results for Fairfax.
