Fairfax, VA – Today, Virginia State Senator Dave Marsden (SD-35) endorsed Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw (D-Braddock) for Congress in Virginia’s 11th District, praising their years of partnership and Walkinshaw’s record of delivering for Fairfax families.
Marsden, who represents parts of Fairfax County in the Virginia Senate and has long been a champion of youth services and public safety, highlighted Walkinshaw’s collaborative leadership and results-driven approach.
“I’ve worked with James Walkinshaw for years—not just as a colleague, but as a trusted partner who knows how to work with the Virginia Legislature to get things done,” said Senator Marsden. “We’ve teamed up on major efforts to expand youth services and improve transportation in Northern Virginia. James has consistently delivered real results for Fairfax families and understands how to navigate complex systems to make change happen. He’s the candidate with the skills and experience to fight for our neighborhoods in Congress and push back against Trump’s reckless agenda starting on Day One. I’m proud to stand with him.”
Walkinshaw welcomed the endorsement, highlighting how proven experience is essential in standing up to extremism and achieving meaningful results for Fairfax families:
“Senator Marsden has spent decades fighting for Northern Virginia families, and I’ve been proud to partner with him to deliver real solutions that make a difference,” said Walkinshaw. “His endorsement is a powerful vote of confidence in the strength of this campaign and what we’re building together.”
Marsden’s endorsement adds to the broad, diverse, and growing coalition backing Walkinshaw’s campaign — a surge of support powered by grassroots energy and trusted leaders from Fairfax City Hall to Richmond to Capitol Hill, all united to stop Trump’s agenda and deliver for Virginia families.
