Legend of Reston, Former Delegate Ken Plum Endorses James Walkinshaw for Congress

Fairfax, VA – Today, Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw (D-Braddock) announced that he has earned the endorsement of former Delegate Ken Plum, a trusted public servant who spent 44 years fighting for Reston and Fairfax County in the Virginia House of Delegates. Known for his lifelong commitment to education, equity, and community progress, Plum is backing Walkinshaw as the candidate best prepared to continue delivering for Northern Virginia in Congress.

“James Walkinshaw is the leader we need for this moment. He was a great ally of mine in fighting for Reston and I know he’ll always do what’s right. I hope you’ll join me in voting for him on June 28,” said Plum.

Walkinshaw expressed deep appreciation for Plum’s endorsement, noting their shared record of results and commitment to public service.

“I’m humbled by the confidence former Delegate Ken Plum has in me to be VA-11’s fighter against Trump’s dangerous agenda. While Delegate Plum retired from the General Assembly, he’s never quit fighting for our values. We’ve worked together to deliver for Reston, and I’m ready to build on that work in Congress—fighting for our values and delivering on Day One,” said Supervisor Walkinshaw.

Plum’s endorsement adds to a wave of growing support from leaders across Northern Virginia who trust Walkinshaw to deliver in Congress.

With 50+ endorsements from trusted local, state, and federal leaders—including major unions and organizations like the New Democrat Coalition Action Fund, the National Federation of Federal Employees, Teamsters Local 639, and the Virginia State Association of Letter Carriers—Walkinshaw’s campaign continues to generate momentum ahead of the Democratic Firehouse Primary on Saturday, June 28.
