Fairfax, VA – Today, former Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton (VA-10) — a former Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney, State Senator, and widely respected advocate for Northern Virginia families — announced her endorsement of Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw in the race for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District.
Her support follows the recent endorsement of Walkinshaw by incumbent Congressman Gerry Connolly, adding momentum to Walkinshaw’s campaign at a critical moment. Wexton, known for her leadership on mental health, reproductive rights, and standing up for federal workers — even while facing her own health battles with courage and grace — remains one of the most trusted voices in Virginia politics.
Former Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton said the following of her decision to endorse Supervisor Walkinshaw:
“When I was considering running for Congress, Congressman Connolly and his Chief of Staff, James Walkinshaw, were among the first to encourage me, and they supported me every step of the way. James’ commitment to progressive values and his decade plus of experience as Gerry’s Chief of Staff and representing the people of Fairfax County as an elected member of the Board of Supervisors, make him best prepared to represent VA-11 moving forward. Fairfax County Supervisor Walkinshaw said the following in response to his endorsement by Wexton:
