Fairfax, VA – Today, Congressman Eugene Vindman (VA-07)—a decorated retired Army Colonel, national security expert, and defender of democratic values—endorsed Fairfax County Supervisor James Walkinshaw (D-Braddock) in the race for Virginia’s 11th Congressional District, calling him the candidate best prepared to hit the ground running on Day One.
Congressman Vindman’s support underscores Walkinshaw’s readiness to fight against Trump’s dangerous agenda starting on Day One.
“I’m proud to endorse James Walkinshaw because he brings the experience, judgment, and steady leadership Northern Virginia needs in Congress,” said Congressman Vindman. “As the longtime Chief of Staff to Congressman Gerry Connolly and now a Fairfax County Supervisor, James has a proven record of delivering results for our community. He’s the candidate best prepared to continue that tradition of excellent representation—and the one who will hit the ground at full speed starting Day One.”
Walkinshaw welcomed the endorsement and emphasized their shared commitment to standing up to Trump and defending democracy.
“Congressman Vindman knows what it takes to take on Donald Trump. In the military, and in Congress, he has demonstrated his courageous patriotism time after time, said Supervisor Walkinshaw. “I’m honored to have his support and his confidence that I am the candidate best prepared to represent the 11th district.”
With this latest endorsement, Walkinshaw has now secured support from more than 55 elected officials, community leaders, and labor organizations, including Teamsters Local 639, the National Federation of Federal Employees, the Virginia State Association of Letter Carriers, and the 32BJ SEIU.
With days to go until the June 28 Democratic Firehouse Primary, Walkinshaw’s campaign continues to gain momentum as supporters unite behind the best-prepared candidate to take on Trump’s dangerous agenda.
