Chairman Jeff McKay, All Democrats on the Fairfax County Board Endorse James Walkinshaw, Call Him the Leader for This Five-Alarm Moment

Fairfax, VA – Today, Fairfax County Board of Supervisors Chairman Jeff McKay and every Democratic member of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors announced their endorsement of Supervisor James Walkinshaw for Congress in Virginia’s 11th District, citing his experience, steady leadership, and deep commitment to the families of Fairfax County.

The Democratic Supervisors joining Chairman McKay in endorsing Walkinshaw include Jimmy Bierman (Dranesville District), Rodney Lusk (Franconia District), Walter Alcorn (Hunter Mill District), Andres Jimenez (Mason District), Dan Storck (Mount Vernon District), Dalia Palchik (Providence District), and Kathy Smith (Sully District).

Collectively, these local leaders have worked alongside Walkinshaw on the Board of Supervisors to protect Fairfax families from Trump’s dangerous agenda and deliver for residents across the County.

“In every role he’s held, James Walkinshaw has kept his focus where it belongs: on the people of Fairfax County,” said Chairman Jeff McKay. “As a colleague and a friend, he’s someone the Board of Supervisors — and more importantly, our residents — can always count on to deliver for our community. In this five-alarm moment for our democracy, he’s the best-prepared candidate to take on Trump’s agenda and get to work on day one. I’m proud to support him.”

The unified backing from Walkinshaw’s Board colleagues reflects their trust in his leadership and shared belief that Fairfax families need a fighter in Congress who understands their daily challenges.

“It’s an honor to work alongside these dedicated public servants on the Board of Supervisors,” said Walkinshaw. “Together, we’ve stood up to Trump’s reckless agenda, protected our values, and delivered progress for Fairfax families. I’m proud to have their support, and I’m ready to carry that work forward in Congress starting on Day One.”

Walkinshaw served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Gerry Connolly for more than a decade before being elected to the Board of Supervisors to represent the Braddock District.

The endorsement by Chairman McKay and the full Democratic slate of Fairfax County Supervisors adds to the rapidly growing coalition of local, state, and federal leaders rallying behind Walkinshaw’s campaign — a movement focused on protecting democracy and delivering real results for Northern Virginia families.
