James Walkinshaw is a lifelong Virginian dedicated to making our Commonwealth an even better place to live, work, and raise a family. He lives in Fairfax with his wife, Yvette, and their son, Mateo. James grew up in Prince William County and graduated from NYU. Before Congress, he served on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, delivering results on public safety, transportation, and affordability. He was also Chief of Staff to Congressman Gerry Connolly for more than a decade. Since being elected to Congress in 2025, James  has focused on standing up to Donald Trump, protecting federal workers, strengthening oversight, supporting small businesses, improving cybersecurity, and lowering costs, while delivering funding and responsive constituent services for Virginia families.
